Halstein Forge Dolch/Messer - The Cynwrig - Preversion - Scharf

ich möchte mich gerne von meinem Messer "The Cynwrig" trennen, weil meine bessere Hälfte kein großer Waffenfan ist und auch der Kinderwunsch nahe ist.

Ich habe dieses wirklich schöne Messer aus Amerika von Darksword Amory vor gut 4 Jahren erstanden. Es ist in einem sehr guten Zustand und hing bis vor kurzem an unserer Wand. Das Messer ist die Vorversion des gleichen Messers mit Damastklinge, die momentan noch bei "The Medieval Store" erstanden werden kann. Es gab damals drei verschiedene Modelle.

Da es eine Vorabversion war, ist die Klinge leicht zerkratzt (siehe Bilder), aber das stört eigentlich nicht, da es den besonderen Look des Messers noch unterstützt. Ich habe es immer pfleglich behandelt und regelmäßig eingeölt. Es wird auch frisch eingeölt geliefert. Ich freue mich, es in neue Hände zu übergeben, die das Messer zu schätzen wissen. Vorsicht, es ist scharf.

This knife is one of our special Urnes Staves Church blades. A 12th century stave church located in Norway, the Urnes Stave Church is renowned for its many examples of unique iconography including classic examples of Viking knotwork. While a site of Christian worship from the early 11th to the late 19th century, many of the thematic elements in the artwork are thought to be of old Norse origin. Certain knives in the Halstein Forge line belong to a special collection inspired by the Urnes Stave Church – knotwork on the handles has been taken from the designs in the church itself. In the 21st Century, there are a wealth of knife designs both historical and modern available to look to for inspiration. When Halstein Forge was founded, the owners wanted to create knives that were not only based on established designs but also created out of the minds of our own designers. With so many potential sources of inspiration, it was not hard to come with designs that were exclusive to our forge.

The Cynwrig is one of these knives. An exclusive Halstein Forge design, it takes its inspiration from multiple sources. The original shape of the blade is based off of a classic skinner knife, with a long, tapered single edged and curved blade. The geometry of the blade, especially its profile, was influenced by traditional Japanese knife geometry. There are also traces of classic American Bowie influence which can be detected, especially in the flare of the pommel. The carved oak handle is decorated with designs inspired by the knotwork of the Urnes Staves Church, and are affixed securely to the tang. This beautiful Damascus knife is very unique, and is a worthy homage to the various sources of inspiration it claims.
